Logo Printing on Light and Dark Shirts
Plan garment colours, artwork contrast and approval references without assuming that every print process produces the same result.
The garment colour, fabric surface and printing process can change how artwork appears. Compare the design against the actual proposed garment colours and ask how the job will be assessed before treating one mockup as approval for every colour.
Start by checking the design against the garment
A logo that is clear on a white background may lose visible edges on a dark shirt. Look at lettering, outlines and small gaps separately. Ask whether an approved alternate logo version is available for a different background.
Do not change brand colours or add a border without approval. A simple change may affect the brand guidelines even when it improves contrast. Keep the approved version for each garment colour clearly labelled.
Ask about the proposed method
Different processes handle colour and backgrounds differently. Some jobs may need additional preparation, but that must be explained for the actual combination of fabric, garment colour and artwork. A generic comparison is not a production specification.
MIREN offers in-house DTF printing. We confirm fabric and artwork compatibility for each order.
Distinguish a screen preview from a physical reference
A phone or monitor displays light; a printed garment is viewed under surrounding light. Use mockups to confirm layout, and ask what options exist if physical colour or feel needs assessment. Do not assume a sample is included in every quotation.
For several colours or repeat orders, record which garment and artwork version was approved. Supplier batches and substitutions need checking; avoid expecting a new combination to match an earlier one without assessment.
